Secret Sound Recorder in Windows 7

OK let me start off by saying I just moved for a "job" more about that at a later date (and yes there will be more). But for now my BackTrac lab was down and my brain was melted. Well I am back up now (relatively) and while doing some "Research" I came across this little nugget which I just had to share.

Windows 7 has a built in "Secret" sound recorder.

Now if you goto the start menu under accessories you will see this.

Nothing special there, now if you launch it you will see this.

Boring right?!

OK now the fun.

If however you goto the run dialog. Windows + R.

And type CMD

You will get the awesome Command Prompt.

Now you can type the following command.

soundrecorder/FILE/(type file name.mwa)/DURATION 0000:00:00 (Hours:Minutes:Seconds)

What you have is a covert way to launch soundrecorder (it will appear in the tray) set the file name and duration.

Now think (Bat file + hidden attributes) I will leave the rest to your imagination. Just a fun little thing.

As always have fun and keep it legal.
